Monthly Wrap-Up: August, 2014

On August 2014, the total trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange fell by 9.87% and reached UAH 887,529,474; the total number of transactions decreased by 1.8% and hit 42,015.

The total volume on the derivatives market of the Ukrainian Exchange grew by 9.91% and reached UAH 140,621,313 (109,527 contracts); the total number of transactions reached 11,466.

The total trading volume on the securities market fell by 12.83% and reached UAH 746,908,162; the total number of transactions reached 30,549.

At the end of the month, the UX Index calculated by the Ukrainian Exchange fell by 10.71% to hit 1,181.10 points.

Most effect was coming from the shares of Motor Sich (MSICH) -48.17 points, Raiffeisen Bank Aval (BAVL) -26.60 points and Donbasenergo (DOEN) -19.43 points.

At the end of the month, the top sellers were government bonds UA85276 the trading volume reached UAH 104,496,944 followed by shares of Ukrnafta – UAH 44,530,021 and Motor Sich – UAH 39,089,161. Their total turnover in shares reached 34.69%, 14.78% and 12.98% respectively.
