Kyiv-listed
equities were lower for a third straight session on Wednesday (Oct 30) after
news that Naftogaz has not settled its USD 880mn payment for August Russian gas
imports seemed to spook the local market. Externally, the main US indices
retreated slightly from their record highs while European benchmarks were nearly
flat. The UX index dropped 1.0% to close at 860 points. Alchevsk Steel (ALMK),
Avdyivka Coke (AVDK), and UkrNafta (UNAF) all lost in the range of 2%, while
volume leader Motor Sich (MSICH) was down 1.4% to UAH 1540 and Raiffeisen Aval
(BAVL) slipped by the same increment on turnover of UAH 850,000. Outside the UX
basket, LuganskTeplovoz (LTPL)  shed 1.6% to UAH 1.53. In Warsaw, Kernel (KER
PW) gave back its rebound from Tuesday, falling 4.9% and ending at a new
