Monthly Wrap-Up: May, 2014

On May 2014, the total trading volume on the Ukrainian Exchange fell by 5.17% and reached UAH 648,813,917; the total number of transactions decreased by 17.51% and hit 36,978.

The total volume on the derivatives market of the Ukrainian Exchange fell by 29.39% and reached UAH 78,936,589 (69,026 contracts); the total number of transactions reached 10,273.

The total trading volume on the securities market fell by 0.44% and reached UAH 569,877,328; the total number of transactions reached 26,705.

24 government bonds transactions were done on May; their total volume reached UAH 33,738,427.

At the end of the month, the UX Index calculated by the Ukrainian Exchange grew by 10.66% to hit 1220.89 points.

Most effect was coming from the shares of Motor Sich (MSICH) 49.31 points, Centerenergo (CEEN) 46.25 points and Raiffeisen Bank Aval (BAVL) -17.64 points.

At the end of the month, the top sellers were shares of Centerenergo the trading volume reached UAH 36,303,467 followed by government bonds UA60642 – UAH 31,912,339 and Motor Sich – UAH 29,661,276. Their total turnover in shares reached 18.57%, 16.32% and 15.17% respectively.
